DeepSeekâs rocket launch to the top of the App Store - 1 million downloads in record time - shows that when AI delivers value, users donât care about murky terms of use or the dystopian undertones of âAI 2.0.â
The honeymoon phase for tools like this is a masterclass in human behavior: convenience wins, ethics grumbles in the comments.
But hereâs the question - when the dust settles, are we riding the wave of progress or just feeding the cycle of hype?
The answer depends on whether we use tools like DeepSeek to think smarter, or just faster.

Apple, the company that once turned "Think Different" into a global mantra, seems to have settled for "Think Cautious" in the AI arms race. While OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic redefine the term âfast followerâ with monthly breakthroughs, Apple is busy rolling out AI tools that overheat devices, churn out fake news, and underwhelm nearly everyoneâincluding their own user base. Sure, privacy-first AI sounds noble, but can you win a Formula 1 race in a Volvo while your competitors are lapping you in Bugattis? The critical question: Is Appleâs devotion to hardware integration an asset in the age of ubiquitous intelligence, or will it turn their walled garden into a gilded cage? In the generative AI era, the conversation is shifting from âWhat can my device do?â to âHow smart is the intelligence I can access?â Right now, Apple's answer feels less like the future and more like a 404 error.
